BRAZIL
This vast country is one of the dominating forces of the coffee world. It is the largest producer and exporter of coffee and the second largest coffee-consuming nation. The coffee growing areas cover the south east coastline from Pernambuco in the north to Parana in the south. Much of the area is prone to frosts during the Brazilian winter. Severe frosts are capable of destroying the trees, which seriously affects the entire world market price for coffee.
Did you know… Brazil’s coffee trade employs over five million people and contributes 30% of the world’s total coffee supply?
