YEMEN
The world's oldest cultivated coffee is grown on mountain terraces at altitiudes exceeding 4,500 feet. The trees are individually cared for by local farmers who have cultivated and processed the coffee in the same way for centuries. Coffee plants thrive in this fertile region with many spring fed waterfalls. The coffee is grown using rainwater irrigation, dried naturally and without the use of chemicals. Yemeni beans have a unique flavour, characterised by its medium to full body, a winey cup and overtones of chocolate and cherries.  Originally shipped through the ancient port of Mocha, Arabian Mocha, grown in the northern mountains of Yemen, is one of the oldest and most traditional of the world's coffees. It is also one of the finest.
