Dr John Stanley After periods of time working as a nutritionist in government, industry and
academia, John Stanley now divides his time between teaching and consultancy.
He was
appointed Lecturer in Biochemistry at Trinity College, Oxford in October 1995
and Lecturer in Biochemistry at St Hugh's College, Oxford in October 2006. Both
posts involve teaching metabolism, a basic part of both courses, to
biochemistry
and medical students. He is also a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of
Biochemistry at the University of Oxford.
John Stanley's consultancy, Lincoln Edge Nutrition, has been providing nutrition
advice to government and industry since April 1999. He has been a regular
contributor to the journal Lipid Technologyand has been publishing an article on a subject of current interest to the fats
and oils industry in human nutrition every two months since January 1999. John
Stanley was appointed Adviser to the Food Standards Agency for their research
programme on Diet and Cardiovascular Health in February 2004. He has also
carried
out consultancy work for the Coffee Industry and the Cereal Industry.
John Stanley has appeared on radio and television including the BBC TV nine
o'clock News, Healthcheck Watchdog, BBC Radio's File on Four, BBC Radio's
Material
World and Border Television. | Dr Sarah Jarvis Dr Sarah Jarvis is a GP, GP trainer, fellow of the Royal College of General
Practitioners (RCGP) and Women's Health spokesperson for the RCGP. She is also
the
Women's Health Tutor for the University of Bath/ RCGP learning programme.
Sarah Jarvis is also a medical writer and broadcaster, and is currently the
Radio 2 doctor, doctor to The One Show on BBC1 and doctor to Good Housekeeping and Pregnancy magazines, with regular appearances on ITN lunchtime news, The Wright Stuff on Channel 5, GMTV and Radio 5 live.
She has been a regular contributor to journals including Update, Doctor, Practice Nurse, the British Journal of Cardiology, Today Newspaper, the Sunday Telegraph, Women's Health and the Guardian. She has sat on a number of advisory boards for medical journals, including Update, Doctor, Young Principals and Horizons. | Dr Sarah Schenker Dr Sarah Schenker is one of the most high profile and influential nutritionists
in the UK and is a member of the British Dietetic Association; The Nutrition
Society; The Guild of Health Writers and has served on both professional and
government committees.
She has contributed to every daily national newspaper on numerous diet and
health issues as well as appearing regularly on TV and radio. Sarah regularly
writes
for magazines, newspapers and journals.
Sarah is a qualified Accredited Sports Dietitian and is a consultant to Norwich
City Football Club and Delia Smith. Sarah is a qualified State Registered
Dietitian and Registered Public Health Nutritionist . | Dr Susan Mayou Dr Susan Mayou is a consultant dermatologist with a special interest in
paediatric dermatology and non-invasive cosmetic dermatology. Susan was
responsible for
running the paediatric dermatology clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
and the paediatric and adult clinic at Queen Mary's Roehampton for 15 years.
Susan is affiliated with both the Royal Society of Medicine and the British
Association of Dermatology and practices through at the Cadogan Clinic. Susan
is
also cofounder and secretary of the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group, an
Honorary
Lecturer at Imperial College London, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians
and Member of the British Association of Dermatology and British Association of
Paediatric Dermatology.
Susan has been author of more than 40 peer-reviewed articles published in
medical journals and has been quoted in a number of national newspapers and
women's
magazines. | Fiona Ford Fiona Ford is a registered dietitian and also has a Master's degree in Health
Research.
Fiona now works at the Centre for Pregnancy Nutrition, which was created in 1990
at the University of Sheffield. The centre hosts the national Eating for
Pregnancy helpline and undertakes a range of health promotion activities.
Her current research interests developing tools to measure dietary intake in
pregnancy, designing interventions to reduce maternal obesity and its impact on
pregnancy outcome.
Fiona has actively supported many statutory and voluntary sector programmes and
groups at a local, regional, national level to share her experience and
expertise about the far reaching influence and importance of food and nutrition
for
pregnant women and new mothers. She actively contributes to increasing
awareness,
development and promotion of strategies in the field of nutrition and wider
public
health.
She has been a long-standing member of the Food Policy, Maternal Health
Strategy, Baby Friendly Initiative, and Infant Feeding groups in Sheffield.
Fiona is
also a member of the NICE PHCC producing guidelines on maternal and infant
nutrition, gestational weight gain and postnatal weight loss, the recently
formed
maternity MEND group and a spokesperson for media queries to the British
Dietetic
